In this series I create various enchanting unique graphic edits from one single photoshoot concept. Art allows many beautiful petals to arise from a single stem. The image pictured above is a selected retouched original from the group of images from which this series is based.
Ever since childhood I have created in my free time, peacefully and relentlessly, and as I have aged in this time of constant stimulation and distraction my ability to do so has become, to my dismay, much much less. I feel like you can relate to that, too, can't you? Who knew when I was a little girl that the day I discovered Photoshop and web design would become so important to me in this day as it has become a desired career path. It is something I can use to make money, which has a very sort of dark reality to it. Like, what I really want is to live a life where I can create as I please and develop deep relationships with the people and animals and my environment, live in a galvanized community without paved roads -only grass- in which we take a couple days a week to do communal work like build buildings and make food and tend to the earth, but in truth my outlet to survival is a forceful extortion of a small facet of my creative mentality as a human being in order to support a fictional corporate entity that indisputably harms the planet in its fortification. I think the way that I deal with that fearful paradigm is to focus my energies on creation and inner growth through spirituality, and I always want my art to communicate that unto my audience.
To this day, whenever I have free time I make dreamy graphic artwork using my own likeness and creative direction in collaboration with selected photographers near and far to satiate my lust for creation. There's something powerful in using my own image to create an alternate reality that we can all observe, a look into my own capacity as a human being, a physical manifestation of my bleeding heart. Similarly there is something magical in the process of designing so easily at my fingertips -that within minutes I can create a digital masterpiece, so crisp and clear and lifelike, so easy for a human being to relate to.
When I create images like these I have no plan, no premeditated analyzation. These particular images were very simple and quick to make, actually, but I think that it is interesting to see what can be made from one particular shoot. The inspiration from my art comes from everything emphatically natural: our connection with nature, our mind/spirit and body connection, our spirituality that allows us to experience the oneness even beyond the realm of the five senses.
If anything, I hope that my artwork reminds you that there is no such thing as other-worldly, that we by nature have access to anything that some consider other-worldly, and that it only takes grounding, peace, authenticity to find your solution.
